Camp Menina was the first camp in Slovenia to receive the GREEN KEY environmental certificate!
What is a Green Key?
The Green Key is an environmental certificate that has been voluntarily obtained by more than 2,600 different tourism establishments in 56 countries.
The Green Key Certificate is the leading standard of excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation in the tourism industry. This prestigious eco-label signifies the commitment of companies to adhere to the strict criteria set by the FEE International Foundation for Environmental Education. The Green Key environmental label assures all guests that by choosing a certified tourist facility, they directly contribute to the protection of the environment. Holders of the Green Key label are committed to maintaining high environmental standards and are subject to frequent inspections.
WHY DID WE DECIDE FOR IT?
We decided to obtain the green key because we are aware that tourism can be a great burden on the environment. That is why we know how important it is to take good care of nature and keep it clean.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR OUR GUESTS?
During your holiday in Camp Menina, we want you to enjoy a clean environment, and at the same time, we want you to help us continue to maintain this situation. We want you to go home with the awareness that you have also contributed to the preservation of nature and that it will continue to remain intact thanks to you.
Therefore when visiting our camp we ask you to:
- separate waste as indicated on the waste containers,
- minimize waste,
- do not use excessive amounts of detergents and washing powders when washing dishes or laundry,
- when washing dishes, use just cold water instead of warm water,
- use the washing machine only when it is full,
- use the economical washing method,
- do not do anything that would unnecessarily burden the environment
Of course, we ask you to put rubbish in the bins inside and outside the camp.
Thank you!
