Electric bicycles are a great alternative to the car as they enable driving in areas that are not accessible by car and at the same time they make a great contribution to sustainable mobility.
Before we tell you more about Puch electric bicycles, which will further expand our offer at Camp Menina, we would like to say a few words about the outstanding Slovenian, inventor and factory owner Janez Puh (German Johann Puch), whose name, innovation and knowledge stand behind this brand.

Janez Puh's legacy includes the first bicycle with equally large wheels connected by a chain, which we still use today and 21 types of cars that he designed and developed. Born in 1862 in Slovenia, he has lived in Graz since he was 23, where all his inventions and innovations were created. In 1899 he founded the company "Styria Werke" and from this factory in 1901 came the first motorcycle with a petrol engine. The factory employed 1,100 workers, produced 16,000 bicycles, 300 motorcycles and 300 cars.

Puch electric bikes are designed to help you ride and provide extra power to mitigate the effort otherwise required when cycling. The electric motor is mounted in the middle, so the bike is also suitable for suburban environments, as you can easily ride uphill with it. The bikes have a light and elegant aluminum frame - men's, women's and unisex and trendy design. They are also adapted for transporting children.
Puch electric bicycles will be available at Camp Menina in the spring. We also warmly recommend them to older visitors, as the frame allows easy use and thanks to the electric assistance, the bikes also allow a less demanding way of cycling.

The Slovenian brand Tomos also grew on Puh's foundations. The engine factory was planned in Sežana in 1954 and then set up in Koper. There they assembled the first licensed motor vehicles, among them the most popular MS50 moped, which was named colibri in Tomos, and Puch's name was later used by other engines in connection with Tomos.
