Predjama Castle is located in the small village of Predjama, near Postojna. Carved into a 123-meter-high vertical cliff, it is an over 800-year-old impregnable medieval marvel and a Guinness World Record holder. Behind the largest cave castle in the world lies a network of secret tunnels, once used by the knight Erazem of Predjama for his raiding adventures. In the Cave beneath the castle, bats have found their home. Predjama Castle offers fun for the whole family and is open every day of the year, while the cave beneath the castle, due to bats hibernating in winter, is open only from June to August.

Bukovniško lake
Bukovniško Lake is a beautiful natural gem located in northeastern Slovenia, near the village of Bukovnica in the Municipality of Moravske Toplice. The lake is man-made, created by damming the Bukovnica stream, and is a popular destination for nature lovers, hikers, and those seeking relaxation. It is perfect for a day trip or an extended exploration of the Prekmurje region. Prekmurje's rich cuisine includes delights such as Prekmurska gibanica (layered cake), dödoli (potato dumplings), and bograč (hearty meat stew), which we highly recommend. Hungarian influence has also brought the dessert kürtőskalács (chimney cake) to the region—a yeast dough pastry baked on rotating spits over an open flame, coated with cinnamon and sugar, and deliciously paired with ice cream.
What Bukovniško lake offers?
Kokra Canyon
Located 60 kilometers east of the campsite and less than an hour and a half drive away is the 30-meter-deep canyon of the Kokra River, which is the second-highest urban canyon in Europe and just a few meters away from the hustle and bustle of the city of Kranj.
It offers the perfect relaxation and rest in idyllic nature. Here, you can admire the clear Kokra River, the riverbank, gravel bars, meadows with floodplain forests, and rocky blocks. The clear water and green surroundings in the summer months attract swimmers, and a particularly romantic experience awaits with a walk along the well-maintained wooden bridges and trails through the canyon. The circular walking path also descends 30 meters deep beneath the city of Kranj and is truly beautiful. A visit to the Kokra Canyon is suitable for families with young children, as the trail runs along the river and is gently sloped. In spring, it smells of wild garlic and blooming flowers, in summer, it offers refreshing coolness, and for the brave, even swimming. In autumn, it smells of pears, and in winter, the frozen river creates a true winter fairytale.
You can also stop in Kranj – Kranj is the only city in Slovenia from which the view stretches to Triglav, Stol, Grintovec, and other peaks of the Slovenian mountain ranges that make up our Alps. That is why Kranj is also referred to as the capital of the Slovenian Alps..
