Imagine arriving in the heart of the green Savinja Valley. As you enter Camp Menina, you immediately feel the change: time slows down, the air is fresher, and adventure is within reach.

When I arrived in the heart of the green Savinja Valley, I felt as if I had stepped into another world. The road wound its way past small villages, the Savinja River murmured beside me, and as I drove through the entrance of Camp Menina, I sensed that life here simply moved at a different pace. Time slowed down, the air felt lighter, and everything around me invited me to explore.

At the reception, I was welcomed with a smile, as if I were returning to old friends. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff immediately shared their secrets about the best trails, hidden river spots, and activities I shouldn’t miss. Suddenly, I wasn’t just a guest anymore – I had become part of the story this camp is writing.

My first steps around the camp surprised me. Tall trees everywhere offered pleasant shade, wide grassy areas were alive with families playing football, and children’s laughter echoed between the wooden cabins. Nearby, the Savinja whispered softly – a gentle reminder that here, nature sets the rhythm of the day.

What drew me in most was the lake at the heart of the camp – the true pulse of Menina. Children splashed, paddled, and raced on SUP boards, while parents found a peaceful moment on the grassy beach. I simply stretched out on the ground, watched the sun sparkle across the water, and felt that genuine holiday calm that only nature can bring.

But Camp Menina is not just about relaxation. There’s an adventure park where I had to admit my courage is no longer as boundless as it once was – and that was exactly the charm. The adrenaline followed me to mini golf, the sports courts, and on a mountain bike ride through the wider surroundings.

The Savinja River itself was a story of its own. I tried bellyak and paddled a sit-on-top kayak for the first time. Everything was safe and guided, and the instructors ensured the experience was both thrilling and relaxed. And canyoning? That was one of those moments I’ll be telling my friends about for years to come.

In the evening, I returned to my wooden cabin – warm, cozy, and comfortable. Some neighbors even had their own jacuzzi, and I didn’t envy them at all, because I knew the spa corner awaited me the next day. There I enjoyed the sauna and a massage, the perfect balance to the adrenaline of the day before.

When hunger struck, I wandered into the camp’s restaurant. Traditional Slovenian dishes, a cold glass of local beer, and something sweet to round it all off. In the evenings, the camp transformed into a true social hub – live music, themed dinners, and gatherings by the campfire. It all created a sense of community, as if we were all part of one big family.

Meanwhile, children roamed freely, joined creative workshops, and laughed with the animators. Parents could lean back and relax, knowing their little explorers were safe and happy.

When night fell over the Savinja Valley, I sat by the lake, watching the reflections of the stars. And in that moment, I understood why people keep returning. Camp Menina is not just a holiday destination – it’s an experience that gets under your skin. Here you find balance between nature and community, between adventure and relaxation.

And the best part? It’s open all year round. I know I’ll be back – maybe in summer for the river, in autumn for the colors, in winter for the peaceful atmosphere, or in spring for new adventures. But once you walk through these gates, you understand: You’ve stepped into a place where adventure never rests.

See you there?
