One of the biggest dilemmas on every vacation arises with a bad weather forecast - what can we do on a rainy day? Of course, we can spend it with a good book or board games. For those who want to explore interesting corners of the valley without an umbrella or raincoat, we have some excellent suggestions.

One of the most interesting attractions is a visit to the Coal Mining Museum of Slovenia in Velenje. Under the guidance of a guide, you will descend 160 meters into the pit. Before that, you will put on mining clothes and a helmet, and you will also receive a miner's snack. In an hour and a half, you will explore the underground tunnels and learn about the work of miners in the past and present. At the end of the visit, you will also take a ride on an underground railway, concluding an exciting museum visit. Please note that prior reservation is mandatory, which you can do yourself or contact our receptionists who are familiar with the procedure.

If you enjoy underground adventures, you can continue your trip with a visit to the Pekel Cave near Šempeter, where you will be fascinated by interesting stalactites and the underground karst world. The path through the cave is over a kilometer long, well-maintained, and relatively easy, so you can visit it even with children. It is advisable to bring long clothes and sports shoes as the constant temperature in the cave is around 10 degrees Celsius.

You can drive to Celje, where you can visit the Regional Museum, which is the second oldest museum in Slovenia, and learn about the history of Celje, the Counts of Celje, from prehistory to World War I. Of course, you can stroll through the old town with an umbrella and visit shops and boutiques, and enjoy a coffee or hot chocolate in one of the city's cafes.

Just a 15-minute drive from Celje, you will find Thermana Laško - a pool complex located under the largest glass dome in Europe. Swimming in the thermal water of Laško will refresh and detoxify you. The therapeutic effects of this natural thermal water have been known since ancient times, as it has a beneficial effect on the whole body. Their wellness center is suitable for both older and younger family members. They also take care of teenagers. In the VR Experience Room, they can explore the history of the Counts of Celje in a different and interactive way using virtual reality.

If you ask our boys and girls at Funpark Menina what to do on rainy days, their answer will be clear: When you're already in the water, you can't get any wetter!

In the rain, you will have a great time with kayaking, sit on top, rafting, or any other activities because during heavy rain, the water level in the Savinja River is higher, making water fun even better. You can directly book all water activities in the "raft garaža" at the campsite or through the online form on the website. In bad weather, Funpark Menina offers a special discount on all activities.

Rainy greetings!
