Purpose of video surveillance:

protection of persons and property,
ensuring the safety of guests, visitors and employees,
prevention and detection of damage and unlawful acts, and establishing the circumstances of extraordinary events.

Legal basis:
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Personal Data Protection Act (ZVOP-2), and the legitimate interest of the controller in protecting persons and property.

Retention period of recordings:
Recordings are stored for a maximum of 30 days, unless they are required as evidence in official or judicial proceedings.

Recipients/users of recordings:
Access to recordings is restricted to authorised persons of the controller and contractual processors (system maintenance providers). Recordings may be disclosed to competent public authorities where required by law.

Rights of individuals:
Individuals may exercise their rights of access, rectification, restriction of processing and objection, lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia, and exercise other rights under the GDPR, where the statutory conditions are met.

EXTENDED INFORMATION ON VIDEO SURVEILLANCE

This document contains detailed information on the implementation of video surveillance in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Personal Data Protection Act (ZVOP-2).

2. Purpose of processing personal data

Video surveillance is carried out for the following purposes:

ensuring the safety of persons (guests, employees and visitors),
protecting the property of the controller and third parties,
preventing, detecting and documenting damage, theft, vandalism or other unlawful acts,
monitoring access to and movement within the protected area.

3. Legal basis

The processing of personal data (video recordings) is based on:

Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR – the legitimate interest of the controller,
the provisions of the ZVOP-2 governing video surveillance.

The legitimate interest of the controller is the protection of people and property and ensuring safety in the area.

4. Scope of video surveillance

Video surveillance covers outdoor and/or indoor areas where this is necessary to achieve the purpose of processing.

The surveillance does not cover:

toilets,
showers,
changing rooms,
other areas where individuals can reasonably expect a higher degree of privacy.

Only video recordings are made. Audio recording is not enabled. The area is monitored live.

5. Recipients/users of personal data

Access to recordings is granted exclusively to:

authorised persons of the controller,
contractual processors (where involved and where an appropriate data processing agreement is in place),
competent public authorities (police, courts), where required by law.

6. Retention period

Video recordings are stored for a maximum of 30 days from the date the recording was made, after which they are automatically deleted or overwritten, unless:

they are required as evidence in proceedings,
there is a legal obligation to retain them for a longer period.

7. Transfers of data to third countries

Personal data are not transferred to third countries or international organisations.

8. Automated decision-making and profiling

Video surveillance does not involve automated decision-making or profiling of individuals.

9. Rights of individuals

Individuals have the right to:

access their personal data,
restriction of processing,
object to processing,
erasure of data (where applicable),
lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.

10. Data protection

The controller ensures appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect video recordings against:

unauthorised access,
loss or destruction,
misuse or alteration.
