The Upper Savinja Valley is known for its many tourist farms, which will delight you with local cuisine, homemade products, kindness and hospitality. Most of them are located in the hills, so you can enjoy beutiful views of the valley along with good food. Today we're going to show you five interesting farms, but that doesn't mean that all the other ones don't have great offers too.
The most recognisable is certainly the Klemenšek Farm, located 1000 metres above sea level in the Logar Valley. The farm "Na Klemenčem", as we call it locally, is certainly one of the most photographed farms in Slovenia, as it is located along the Pan Solčava panoramic Road and offers a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Kamniško Savinjske Alps. Lunches are available for groups by arrangement, and you can visit anytime during the summer season. You will be served top-quality homemade delicacies such as: meat žlinkrofi (type of dumplings), cheese strudels, apple strudel, dried meats, homemade sausages, bacon and even homemad pate. You can also buy their delicacies in vending machines in Nazarje and Mozirje, which is sure to be the tastiest "souvenir" for your friends.
A great combination is a visit to the mountain farm Spodnji Strmčnik, run by the Rosc family, located in the hills above Luče. They produce dairy products and you can buy homemade milk, a variety of plain and Greek yoghurts, cottage cheese and young cheeses in different flavours.

They produce 7000l of milk a month, and their products can also be bought in vending machines set up in combination with Klemenšek Farm. Sign up for a tasting of great products! In the Menina restaurant, you can taste the excellent food from the hands of their daughter and our chef Urša.
For an afternoon or day trip, you can head out from the campsite to one of the most interesting farms around; in Lokovica, you will find the Pr' Krajn'k Farmhouse, known for its brewing and brandy-making tradition. They will be offering a tasting of excellent local beer, whisky, gin and other spirits, which you can also find on the shelves of TIC Mozirje.

There is also a collection of old farm tools and machinery, and you can even see the remains of a military plane that crashed near the farm in 1944. Local delicacies are served alongside homemade drinks.
As you head towards Ljubno, you can visit the Visočnik Tourist Farm, located above 1100 metres above sea level, which offers accommodation and meals for private parties. Along with excellent local food, you can see a well-preserved granary dating back to 1880, and the thickest mountain maple in Slovenia, which is said to be 150 years old.

Ljubno is also home to the Kolar Organic Tourist Farm, famous for its organic vegetable production. You can pick seasonal vegetables on your visit or choose to stay overnight and use their summer kitchen. For an interesting experience, we suggest staying overnight in a shepherd's hut, where you will have a true experience of shepherd life.
